AGR’s Delft lab celebrates first anniversary

American Glass Research's (AGR) Deflt, The Netherlands laboratory has celebrated its first anniversary.

AGR invested more than €1 million in the establishment of the testing laboratory.

AGR CEO Henry Dimmick declared it had more than met its first-year objectives, saying: “Our goals were to create and staff a testing laboratory for glass containers and be able to offer all of the same core glass testing services American Glass Research is known for.”

The laboratory features industry-standard testing equipment produced by AGR International itself, including a Ramp Pressure Tester 2X, Vertical Load Tester, and Pendulum Impact Tester for comprehensive, performance testing of glass containers.

Along with the equipment, the laboratory is also has optical and polarising microscopes and an array of metrology devices to round out the capabilities of the facility.

Peter de Haan, Senior Scientist and Manager of the Delft lab, said: “We have continually expanded our staff to meet our growing needs. In support of this, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Clarissa Justino de Lima has joined the AGR Testing Laboratory team as a Research Scientist.” 

Other new offerings at the laboratory include an expansion of the company’s training programme with the addition of open enrolment seminars in Moscow, Russia for the first time, and expanded offerings in Krakow, Poland, Lake Ammersee, Germany and Montecchio, Italy.
