Glass quotations surge 1 yuan per weight box in Southern China and market reaction is quite positive, which renders a serial of prices enhancing in the short term. Demand increases lead to glass rates rise. However, the demands won’t climb so much due to upcoming rainy season. Most manufacturers are purchasing for the sake of storing goods.

Regarding glass capacity, Tianjing SYP from Northern China announces a line with 550 tons capacity of colored glass has stopped for cold-repairing and upgrading. Aimed to produce 132,000 tons per year, this upgraded line is planned to produce automotive glass and flat glass for construction. And current glass market is estimated to fluctuate.
