Glas Trösch: Synathlon Unil in Lausanne

The Synathlon cube-like building at the University of Lausanne hosts international sports federations and organizations and organizes international sports events and congresses.

The new ThinkSport innovation network, created by the canton, the city, the federal government and the International Olympic Committee – IOC, the Institute of Sports Sciences at the University of Lausanne, FISU - International University Sports Federation and AISTS - International Academy of Sport Science & Technology are located on a plot of around 6000 m2.

Glas Trösch supplied around 2200 m2 of triple insulating glass to meet the visual and technical requirements of the Karamuk Kuo Architects office. The thermal insulation layer SILVERSTAR ZERO Eplus (En2plus) on positions 2 and 5 provides a lot of daylight in the interiors, the reduction of artificially generated light and thus a pleasant working climate.

Thanks to the combination of high light transmission and low u-value, energy costs and CO2 emissions are significantly reduced. Safety is ensured by the laminated safety glass integrated into the insulating glass.
