Metal and glass packaging supplier Ardagh Group, Glass – North America division has entered a long-term supply agreement with the US-based St Julian Winery.
According to the agreement, Ardagh will manufacture glass wine bottles for the winery.
St Julian Winery is the largest winery in the US state of Michigan. It has been producing juices and quality wine for more than 95 years.
St Julian operations director Matt White said: “At St Julian, we pride ourselves on growing all our fruit in the great state of Michigan and leaving the smallest ecological footprint possible.
“We are also continually seeking strong, ethical, trustworthy business partners. Sourcing glass bottles produced in the US along with the opportunity to work with Ardagh’s great people made this an easy business decision.”
Operating 56 metal and glass production facilities in 12 countries, Ardagh offers a wide range of 100% recyclable bottles in different shapes, colours and sizes. The company has over 125 years of glass manufacturing experience.
In addition to the recyclability, glass bottles preserve the true taste of the product and require little time to be returned into the market.
Ardagh North American Glass Division chief commercial officer John Shaddox said: “Ardagh is proud to partner with St Julian Winery to provide consumers with glass bottles made in the US while supporting US manufacturing jobs.”
Last month, Ardagh Group partnered with UK contract wine packer Greencroft Bottling to launch the first wine canning line.
