Bohle: VetroMount balustrade system honoured with Red Dot Award

The VetroMount balustrade system (with General Building Inspection Test Certificate (AbP)) is based on the ingenious yet simple idea of the cable-tie principle, which makes its installation as easy as can be.

This also convinced the international Red Dot Award Jury: they distinguished VetroMount as “Innovative Product 2020”. Bohle AG thus counts among the winners of the world′s most prestigious design competition and prove their development competence once again.

Classy appearance, efficient installation and at the same time 100 percent safe: VetroMount succeeds in several respects. Tested to building regulations, the innovative and patented glass fixing is at the core of the system which enables fixing glass panes in the profile with a simple pull-push movement. It is this principle that Bohle is especially proud of.

“VetroMount is the first glass balustrade system that we have developed completely independently in-house. We are therefore very pleased that the distinguished jury of the Red Dot Award has confirmed and awarded our innovative approach. This gives us a strong momentum for the expansion of the series, already planned for this year, and other exciting projects,” emphasized Arne Klöfkorn, COO of Bohle AG.

Apart from aesthetics, the Red Dot Jury also evaluated the selected materials, workmanship, ergonomics, and functionality. VetroMount scored particularly highly when it comes to functionality.

Once the patented and pre-assembled glass bearings are inserted and equally spaced as a unit along the one-metre profile, followed by the glass pane, mounting is done in three intuitive steps:

  1. The pane is clamped into the glass bearing with the aid of two clamping wedges each.

  2. The glass inclination can be adjusted by hand without using any tools.

  3. The glass pane is safely anchored in the profile with the aid of a simple pull-push movement – based on the cable-tie principle.

Done! All corresponding adjustments can be done comfortably from opposite the fall side.

As a winner, VetroMount will be presented in the online exhibition on the Red Dot website starting from the end of June 2020, and additionally forms part the “Design on Stage“ Exhibition in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.

In the 1990s, Red Dot CEO Professor Dr. Peter Zec developed the name and brand of the award. Ever since, the sought- after distinction “Red Dot” has been the international seal of outstanding design quality. The award winners are presented in the yearbooks, museums and online.
