The covid-19 has impacted world economic deeply from daily life to business trading, especially in construction field. Many projects were suspended or canceled. However, through the efforts’ from all countries in the world, now the wounds are curing slowly. China has contributed to the rest of the world. 

Goldstone Vacuum Tech (GVAC), as an expert in vacuum deposition machines and magnetron sputtering technology over 25 years’ experiences, recently fulfilled two glass coating lines for Vietnam and Bangladesh. The sales director, Mr. Han, told us that replacing the previous chemistry silver plating process with advanced magnetron sputtering is an environmental upgrade without pollution emissions. And we use high quality rotary vane pump and molecular pumps made in China without oil and gas pollution emissions, which is a third of the price of similar products in Europe and Japan. 

As the result of the continuous researching and developing, now GVAC has been becoming one of the leading companies in the field of large area glass sputter coating. 

One production line is installed in Vietnam

This is the first Low-E glass coating line in Vietnam that is imported from China. The production line is located in the northern of Vietnam, Tỉnh Hải Dương. However, in earlier time, another Low-E production line was bought from Von Ardenna, Germany and installed in southern of the country, Ho Chi Minh.

In recent years, the glass industry in Vietnam develops rapidly. With the help of float glass furnace technology from Qinhuangdao and Bengbu of China, several furnaces of 600T and 900T are put into operation in the past 3 years, that makes Vietnam becomes the fastest increasing glass market in ASEAN.

Since 2000, the architectural glass coating industry has been ever developed with a very high speed in the past 15 years, and it was slowed down from 2017. Today in China, the coated glass production capacity is absolutely over the market demand. So the glass processors have to think about the products exporting and technology updating. 

However, those out time glass processing technologies are still attraction for under developing countries, such like ASEAN, South Asia, South America and Africa. There are big demands of coated glass in those territories, due to the economic developing, the building glass needs to be upgraded at same time, using coated glass for better appearance, solar shielding and energy saving will be a trend for future years. If we look back to our building glass history, the same stories are repeating in Vietnam and other countries again.

The disaster from Covid-19 is changing the economics of the world. People now are thinking more about producing the essential construction materials locally, not depend on out sources, not only importing goods from China. What could China do now? One of the solutions is to transfer our technologies and experiences to them, moving our outdated production to those places, help them developing the independent glass industry. So in the future, they are able to receiving the new technical transferring when China has updated its technology again.

  A production line for Bangladesh is installing in GVAC now 

Bangladesh has put into production a float glass furnace with Qinhuangdao technology from China and introduced GVAC magnetron sputter coating equipment. The coating machine use state-of-arts manufacturing, high tech components made in China, supplied the mature process and knowhow together with the machine, give client a turn-key project. This cooperation can lead the building glass market in Bangladesh to coated glass, complete an industrial updating.
