The awards, now in their seventh year, will take place this year virtually on 12 November and will again celebrate the achievements of the glass industry and its supply chain. This year, eight awards are up for grabs with two new categories introduced – The Rising star award and Marketing impact – as well as the British Glass company of the year awarded to British Glass members who entered this year’s awards. Commenting on behalf of the judges, Nick Kirk Technical director at British Glass said; “This year the quality and number of entries has been extraordinary and a real challenge to judge. Given the current situation, it has been very encouraging to read and see some great examples of products, techniques, and practices from across the industry. “For the 2020 awards we have received our highest number of entries to date as well as a number from overseas, which is a testament and a real good news story for our industry.” The shortlist in full: Design of the year – container – Sponsored by Packaging News Allied Glass - Cù Bòcan Stoelzle Flaconnage Ltd - Carbon Sake Stoelzle Flaconnage Ltd - Whitby Gin Design of the year – flat – Sponsored by Glass International Pilkington United Kingdom Limited - SaniTise Saint Gobain Glass UK - University of East Anglia StealthCase Oy – StealthCase Innovative solution – Sponsored by Glass Technology Services Ardagh Glass – Briquette project StealthCase Oy – StealthCase VRMT – Virtual reality training Health and safety action – Sponsored by Arco Encirc – Automated platform Pilkington United Kingdom Limited – COVID MS forms Pilkington United Kingdom Limited – Wellbeing Kiosks Sustainable practice – Sponsored by Glass Futures Ardagh Glass – Briquette project Croxsons – Love Gin Encirc - Belu partnership Rising Star – Sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers of London Allied Glass – James Miller Allied Glass – Liam Appleyard Allied Glass – Rob Windley Electric Glass Fibre – Mathew Coffey Encirc – Erin Miller Strengthening business through people – Sponsored by Glass Worldwide Electric Glass Fibre – Cultural change programme Encirc – In it together Pilkington United Kingdom Limited - NSG 'Anzen Bunka' Improvement Strategy Marketing impact – Sponsored by FEVE Allister Malcolm Glass Limited - Beauty, artistry, cherish forever Encirc – Women with bottle Saint Gobain Glass UK – Glass Tech Hub
