Cleaning a glass stovetop can be as easy as wiping it down between uses. A staple of the rental kitchen, glass-top stoves lack the classic gas stove burners that require more intricate cleaning, but their flat construction means burnt on food and grease stick around longer. To remove those stubborn stains and burns, all you'll need is baking soda and vinegar—two kitchen basics every cleaning hack needs.
Water
Baking soda
Towels
Vinegar
Spray bottle
Make a baking soda paste using a 3:1 ratio of baking soda to water, mixing in a bowl until it thickens. Spread evenly over your glass-top stove using gloves, a spatula, or a brush. Add extra paste to areas with burnt food or stubborn grease spots.
Fill a spray bottle with vinegar and lightly spray the paste on your glass cooktop. Once the area is evenly covered, made warm towels by rinsing them in hot water and wringing them out until damp. Spread the towels over the cooktop.
After thirty minutes, remove the towels and wipe down the surface. Wipe in circular motions to grab onto debris in stubborn areas. If the paste has hardened too much, spray vinegar onto the glass stovetop until the hardened paste fizzes and wipe with a clean towel.
Continue spraying and wiping the paste until the glass-top is completely clean. Finish by wiping the stove down with a fresh towel. Repeat weekly for an easy clean.
