AGC Glass Europe and Saudi Arabian float glass manufacturer Obeikan Glass have jointly designed and constructed the largest glass coater in the world.
A division within AGC Glass Europe called AGC Plasma Technology Solutions based in Gosselies, Belgium designed and built a 72-position magnetron sputtering coater in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia capable of processing over 5 million m2 of glass annually.
The coater relies on AGC’s iOSMB magnet bar technology to produce high-performance glass products like solar control windows.
Obeikan Glass Company operates the Middle East’s largest float glass plant with an 800 tonnes per day production capacity.
The company serves the Middle East market and exports to more than 30 countries worldwide.
With the construction of the coater, the two companies have created a joint-venture called AGC Obeikan Glass.
