Scientists tell us that, unless we act soon, by 2050 there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish.
Consol Glass’ multi-faceted campaign “I Changed 2050” aims to raise awareness around pollution of our oceans and encourages a switch from single-use to reusable packaging. Glass is completely natural. It takes nothing away from the environment and leaves nothing harmful behind.
“By making better choices today, we can create a better tomorrow,” says Dale Carolin, Consol’s Senior Executive, Marketing and Commercial. “By choosing sustainable packaging such as glass, we can be part of this important change and give our oceans a chance to recover. It’s a simple choice that can lead to oceans of change.”
In line with the company’s firm commitment to saving the environment, Consol will be joining hands with several organisations to raise awareness and encourage action against pollution of our oceans. Initiatives will include monthly beach clean-ups along South Africa’s coastline.
“We have several exciting initiatives, involving our employees and local communities, that will take place throughout the year, reinforcing our commitment to the conservation of sea life,” added Carolin.
