Industry veteran Neil Simpson is running a series of online courses on combustion methods and furnace optimisation throughout December.
The first in the series is ‘Industrial Combustion Decarbonisation’ at 8:30am [GMT] on Wednesday December 1, and will be repeated on Thursday December 2 at 1pm [GMT].
The three-hour training module will address issues such as the impact of hydrogen and bio diesel on their high temperature combustion and how to plan for decarbonisation beyond 100% electric conversion.
An additional 30 minutes of 1:1 consulting will be included in the training package, although this will be on a first-come, first-served basis. A PDF of the slides and a digital certificate of attendance will also be provided.
With over 20 published patent applications, Simpson is an expert in the oxy fuel combustion of natural gas, propane, diesel, HFO and oxy hydrogen. Previously employed at the British Gas Company (BOC), Neil now works as an Independent Consultant at Simpson Combustion and Energy.
Simpson is also knowledgeable of industries such as steel reheat, aluminium reverb and cement, which, among others, will be mentioned in the session alongside the main focus of glass.
The session is £450 plus VAT, but will be discounted to £395 plus VAT for groups within a company, Simpson C&E Alumni attendees and members of Glass Trend or SGT.
CelSian, DSF, Fives and AMETEK Land are sponsors of the decarbonisation course.
