Vietnam investigated imports of float glass and take self-defense measures

Recently Vietnam Investigation reported that Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Li Mingyong signed No.3329 File and decided to investigate imports of float glass and take self-defense measures.

The report said this decision was made under the suggestion of Competition Authority and request of Float Glass Co., Ltd and Vietnam Float Glass Co., Ltd.

According to the above decision, Vietnam will investigate the float glass No.7005.29.90.00 and No.7005.21.90.00. It estimated that the growth of these two products’ import was abnormal. The import was 25 million m³in 2008, while in the 1Q in 2009, it reached 7million m³. As a result, relevant manufacturers in Vietnam got a serious loss.
