Glas Trösch: A stack of glass

For the office building of the biotech company Actelion (now Janssen Pulmonary Hypertension) in Allschwil, Switzerland, the Basel-based architects Herzog & de Meuron relied on stacking glass beams. This created 350 workplaces in close proximity to the glass façade, allowing for optimal use of daylight.

Glas Trösch‘s SILVERSTARCOMBI Neutral 70/35 optimally regulates energy transmission in warm months and prevents excessive heat loss in winter, thus helping to reduce air conditioning as well as heating costs. This also helps containing the CO₂ emissions of the building.
