The Protective Glazing Council (PGC) International's next monthly webinar on impact protection for homes and buildings in tornado-prone areas is drawing interest from a variety of companies and firms in the architectural and construction industries. The webinar, part of a series for architects, building owners, specifiers, glazing contractors and others in the architectural community, will be given by Valerie Block, senior marketing specialist for DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions, who has more than 25 years of experience in the glass industry.
Tornado-prone areas face unique threats associated with these severe storm events. High wind shelters offer homeowners a means of personal protection and impact resistant glazing helps to mitigate the potential damage from flying debris. The benefits associated with impact resistant glazing can also protect commercial buildings from windborne damage.
"Block is considered a true expert in the glass industry," says Brian Pitman, director of marketing and communications for the PGC. "It doesn't surprise me that this presentation is drawing such tremendous interest. With tornado protection and damage in the news with items such as Greensburg, Kan., rebuilding from nearly complete devastation to the first city in the United States striving for LEED Platinum certification, the various industries are interested in learning methods to increase protection."
Block's presentation will take place at noon EDT, July 31.
