Manufacturer of Weck glass jar files for bankruptcy

German glass jars producer J. Weck GmbH & Co. KG, based in Wehr, and its subsidiary Weck Glaswerk Gesellschaft, based in Bonn, filed for insolvency with the Karlsruhe District Court. The company has not  provided any further information about the reasons for the bankruptcy.

At the beginning of the last century, J. WECK was founded in Oflingen, at the time they developed and introduced the home-canning method for glass jars. Since then, WECK has made this method popular not only in Germany and Europe, but worldwide.
