TOTeM 50 will take place on 5-6th December, 2023 in Piacenza, Italy.
The International Flame Research Foundation (IFRF) and its Italian Committee are organising a Topic-Oriented Technical Meeting (TOTeM), the 50th TOTeM in the series.
The theme of the event is ‘Decarbonising combustion’ with a focus on hard-to-abate sectors like glass, metal, cement and ceramic.
The event will also include a visit of a nearby Carbon Capture facility.
The conference theme was inspired by the glass industry’s need to address its emission problem, as well as the IFRF’s goal of enhancing applied combustion research and increasing co-operation and information exchange.
The glass industry contributes approximately 5% of total industrial CO2 emissions in Europe.
The conference will analyse topics such as emission containment, decarbonisation, and more.
The event aims to represent a gathering of hard-to-abate industrial fields, since these industries are all facing the same issues.
The IFRF believes sharing goals and solutions across industries will aid decarbonisation.
The event will take place at Piacenza Campus of Politecnico di Milano in Italy.
