Pilkington UK to showcase low carbon glass at Futurebuild 24

Pilkington UK, part of the NSG Group, will exhibit at Futurebuild 24, a show that prides itself on providing a stage for inspiring ideas, innovative solutions and knowledge sharing to drive sustainable construction and help reach the goal of net zero. Pilkington UK can be found at stand G50.

Hosted at the London Excel, a select few of the Pilkington UK commercial team will present Pilkington Mirai™, new low carbon architectural glass with 52 percent less embodied carbon (compared with standard 4 millimetre Pilkington Optifloat™ Clear, European baseline). Visitors will get the chance to get up-close and personal with the product, and the team will be engaging with visitors to answer any questions about the company’s roadmap to sustainability.

Pilkington Mirai™ can be offered as a low carbon alternative to regular float glass, with no difference in performance, quality or aesthetic appearance. It’s been pioneered using a combination of alternative fuel, high recycled glass content and green electricity sources.

The name Mirai, meaning ‘future’ in Japanese, was chosen to mark the start of the next generation of low carbon glass products.
