NSG Group has announced that it has been recognized as a Supplier Engagement Leader, the highest rating in the Supplier Engagement Assessment, for the third year in a row by CDP, an international non-governmental organization that promotes disclosure of information on environmental impacts.
The CDP Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) is an indicator that assesses a company’s supply chain engagement on climate change issues and promotes collaboration among companies in the supply chain. Companies’ efforts are scored based on their responses to questions in the four areas of the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire (Governance, Targets, Value Chain (Scope 3) and Value Chain Engagement) and their assessment of the overall Climate Change Questionnaire. In this year’s survey, 458 companies around the world, including 109 companies in Japan, were selected as Supplier Engagement Leaders.
NSG Group has established a Supplier Code of Conduct and is working with suppliers to achieve the goals set. Furthermore, in September 2023, the company established the NSG Group Sustainable Supply Chain Charter to strengthen and accelerate actions to achieve the Group’s sustainability goals in cooperation with its suppliers.
“NSG’s supply chain partners play an increasingly vital role in helping NSG Group meet our sustainability targets” said John Wilgar, Chief Procurement Officer at NSG. “Only with the support and commitment of our suppliers can we achieve the CO2 reductions required to address climate change but also to promote positive social impact on labour and human rights and other ESG goals as set out in our Supply Chain Charter.”
