O-I Glass’s Bowling Green production facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA is set to be commissioned later in August.
The site, which will be a focus of the company’s MAGMA glass manufacturing technology, will ramp up production in the third quarter of this year.
Speaking to financial analysts, the company’s CEO Gordon Hardie said the facility will test all of MAGMA’s current operating technologies.
“MAGMA is a very exciting technology that has the potential to change how we work, how we invest, how we run the plant, and how we work with customers.
“MAGMA gives us switch-on, switch-off capability in the plants, as opposed to running them 24/7.
“And that allows you to radically reshape how you run plants and the flexibility you have and so on.”
