A Texas-based curtainwall designer, manufacturer and installer was recognized for its work on a project in downtown Houston.

Arrowall Company received Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust’s (IMPACT) Project of the Year award in the Architectural/Ornamental category. It was honored at an award reception held in November in Washington, D.C.

IMPACT officials say Arrowall was recognized for excellence in safety and craftsmanship as part of the Block 250 Houston (1550 on the Green) project, a 28-story “Class A” office building in Houston. Arrowall designed, fabricated and installed more than 300,000 square feet of unitized curtainwall and more than 60,000 linear feet of ornamental aluminum fins for the project.

“Arrowall is extremely grateful for this award, and it was very special to be honored at the ceremony with the other groups from around the United States and Canada,” says project manager Brain Ward. “Our company has worked with the ironworkers for over 30 years and has relied on their training, knowledge and expertise to complete projects across Texas.”

Arrowall has completed multiple large-scale projects in Texas, including Amegy Bank in Houston, Southwest Energy Company in Spring, Texas, Indeed Tower in Austin and Frost Bank Tower in San Antonio.

Arrowall was born from the roots of the Morris Glass Company, which Bill Morris Sr. founded in 1948. In 1975, Morris Sr. opened Arrow Glass Company to specialize in construction. Two years later, Bill Morris Jr. joined Arrow Glass and Morris Glass was sold. Morris Jr. acquired the business in 1989 and changed the name to Arrowall in 1992.
