Every two years GLASS SERVICE sponsors an educational furnace design seminar in the Czech Republic for the benefit of its customers. The Seminar is scheduled for 18 – 19 June 2025.
The venue will be the beautiful and relaxing Wellness Hotel Horal mountain resort in Velke Karlovice, Czech Republic. This biennial event brings together over 150 glass experts from around the world to discuss the use of simulation & control tools, with the goal of optimizing the glass melting and forming processes. The Seminar will be open to anyone interested in learning more about The Furnace of the Future, Industry 4.0, Model-based predictive furnace control, Artificial Intelligence, All Electric Melters, Hybrid Melters incl. Hydrogen combustion optimized by CFD simulation. The focus of the 2025 Seminar will be on presentations that offer solutions for reducing CO2 emissions by 43% or more by the year 2030, in alignment with the Paris Climate agreement. SEMINAR TOPICS Furnace design, forehearth & regenerator simulation – application of modeling Use of models in furnace operation and related advanced model based predictive control Glass quality and yield improvement CO2 reduction strategies – such as oxy-gas, hybrid electric, all electric and hydrogen Industry 4.0 & hot end – neural networks A.I. and NIR furnace imaging Waste heat recovery and increase of cullet recycling LECTURES & POSTERS Contributions will include invited lectures, regular lectures and posters.
