Glass manufacturer Saverglass has re-started a Mexican furnace thanks to an increase in demand.
The company restarted furnace number 2 at its Acatlán de Juárez site, near Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
CEO Brian Lowe, of parent company Orora, said: “In North America we have seen improved forward demand, therefore in January we have restarted the Mexican furnace which supports Mexican and American spirits.”
He added: “Our order book in Mexico is particularly strong, we have a number of months in front of us where both the site's furnaces are at capacity which is a positive in itself.”
During the company’s latest financial note, he said that destocking was continuing and that there were signs of an improved order intake in the glass industry.
