Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 24 February to 1 March, leading Turkish experts in glass and jewelry production are visiting Tashkent with the support of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

As part of the visit, Turkish specialists are conducting training seminars for the first time, aimed at enhancing the skills of local professionals. These training sessions have been organized in line with agreements reached between the heads of state during the third meeting of the Uzbekistan-Türkiye Strategic Partnership Council, held in Ankara in June 2024.

Specifically, both parties agreed on the development of six industrial sectors in Uzbekistan based on Türkiye’s advanced expertise, with the initial stage focused on upskilling local specialists according to Turkish standards.

Currently, Uzbekistan is experiencing high demand for household glassware. By fully utilizing the potential of this sector, the country aims to meet domestic needs and expand its export capacity.

During the training sessions, Turkish experts share their knowledge and experience with Uzbek specialists in improving production efficiency, product quality, and export potential. The hands-on workshops cover various aspects, including enhancing the quality of glass products, introducing advanced surface treatment techniques, and familiarizing technologists and chemists with Türkiye’s best practices in the field.

Representatives of major enterprises specializing in household glass production, including Asl Oyna, Kvarts, Zaravshon Oyna, Mingyuan Silu Industry, and others, are participating in the training.

In addition to jewelry-making courses, the program includes the donation of a 3D printer on a grant basis to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Jewelry Industry Association.

Uzbek companies such as Caravan Silver, Nur Star Jewelry, Sofizar, Global Universal Servis, and others are taking part in the jewelry training sessions. The program is designed to introduce innovative approaches to the jewelry industry, blending national design traditions with modern technologies while enhancing the competitiveness of Uzbek jewelry in the global market.

Uzbek specialists will be able to apply the acquired knowledge at local enterprises, adopting new production methods. This will create broader opportunities to enhance the competitiveness of their products not only in the domestic market but also internationally.

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive special certificates from TIKA. Additionally, in April, a visit will be organized for Uzbek specialists to Türkiye, where they will explore enterprises specializing in household glass and jewelry production.
