France's Groupe Pochet has inaugurated an electric furnace after a €40 million investment.

The furnace at its Hodeng-au-Bosc, Guimerville site in the Bresle valley, northern France, is dedicated to the production of luxury bottles.
Describing it as the 'first electric furnace for luxury flaconnage' in France it will result in an increased production capacity and a 30% reduction in carbon emissions, the glass manufacturer said.
“This furnace will have a colossal impact on how the company operates,” Pochet du Courval Chief Operating Officer Benoit Marszalek said during the inauguration ceremony last week.
"This furnace, powered by renewable energy, will allow us to drastically reduce our CO2 emissions while maintaining the glass excellence that has made Pochet du Courval famous for more than 400 years."
About 400 people were in attendance at the ceremony.
