Zoujaj to increase capacity of glass furnace

Saudi Arabia's National Company for Glass Industries (Zoujaj) plans to expand and rebuild a furnace.

The Board of Directors of the container glass manufacturer approved the expand and rebuild project of furnace 01.

It will see the area of the furnace increase from 65.5 m to 84.5 m, and a corresponding increase in furnace production capacity from 210 tonnes/day to 280 tonnes/day.

The Riyadh-based glass manufacturer has appointed the Sorg group's Techglass to carry out the project.

Zoujaj will invest approximately SAR 58.5 million ($15.6 million) in the project, which is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Commercial production is forecast for the first quarter of 2027.

The company anticipates an increase in sales equivalent to 5% as a result of the investment.
