Last year proved to be a good year for Austin, Texas-based Arrow Glass & Mirror, which was recently ranked on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in America. Not only was the company ranked, it jumped 382 slots, from 1,151 last year to 769 this year.
"The growth can be attributed primarily to continuing to invest in our people in a slowing market," Danny Davis, principal, Arrow Glass & Mirror, tells USGNN.com™. "The strategy has remained the same this year with first investing in our people to coincide with developing our systems and technology." He adds, "We are having an amazing 2009 that will easily surpass 2008."
Arrow Glass & Mirror isn't the only glass-industry company making the list. Several others were also ranked.
Ranked 2,276, M3 Glass Technologies in Irving, Texas, saw 136.8-percent growth from 2005 to 2008. Revenue for the company in 2005 was reported as $4.8 million and in 2008 was $11.4 million.
Northern Building Products in Teterboro, N.J., a manufacturer of commercial and heavy commercial fenestration products, was ranked 2,444. The company reported 123.6 percent growth, with 2005 revenue of $11.6 million increasing to $26.0 million in 2008.
All Action Architectural Metals in South Plainfield, N.J., was ranked 3,369. The company's 2005 revenue was reported as $4.2 million increasing to $7.4 million in 2008.
Midwest Glass in Brookings, S.D., was ranked 3,591. The company reported 2005 revenue of $2.4 million compared to $3.9 million in 2008.
Ranked at 3,757, Sound Glass Sales in Lakewood, Wash., had 2005 revenue of$11.5 million, which increased to $18.4 million in 2008.
Cambridge, Ohio-based Edgetech I.G. was ranked 4,715. The company had 2005 revenue of $52.6 million, increasing to $62.9 million in 2008.
