Zhonghang Special Glass invested 2.5 billion to set up high-end glass production base in Hainan Province

On the afternoon of August 27, Hainan Zhonghang Special Glass Material Co., Ltd. held an opening ceremony in Old City Develop Zone, which marked that the cooperation between Zhonghang Special Glass and Fuyao Glass(Hainan) concluded successfully and the plan of high-end glass production base was launched.

Zhonghang Special Glass planed to invested 2.5 billion yuan to commission the United States Teichman to set up high-end glass production base in Hainan Old City Develop Zone introducing PPG’s advanced technology. First they adopted PPG’s advanced technology to upgrade two production lines, adding on-line coating unit and changing the products of ordinary glass into E-glass substrate, self-cleaning glass, ultra-white glass and solar coated glass. At the same time, they would build another two new production lines in the original site applied with glass deep-processing project and an oxygen supply station, producing high-end Low-E glass. The oxygen supply station was built and invested by Praxair (China) Investment Co., Ltd.

Influenced by the global financial crisis, Fuyao (Hainan) Glass Co., Ltd stopped two original production lines in mid-December 2008.
