Cambridge, Ohio – September 22, 2009 – Edgetech UK recently announced that Super Spacer® TriSeal™ has earned a coveted position in the Construction Products Association’s Innovation and Achievement Showcase 2009 in the “Energy and Carbon Saving” category. The annual showcase includes building products that address the UK government’s initiatives to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability.
“We’re delighted to have been included in the showcase,” said Andy Jones, European Managing Director for Edgetech I.G. “To win this accolade, we had to prove why TriSeal is different and innovative and the real benefits it offers the end user, namely its improvement in thermal conductivity over and above other warm edge products. With such tough competition across the entire construction industry, we’re thrilled that Edgetech is representing its customers in this field.”
Super Spacer TriSeal was chosen because of its energy-saving benefits in architectural and captured glazed insulating glass systems. With its unique triple-seal design and silicone foam construction, TriSeal also allows for the natural expansion and contraction of insulating glass caused by temperature changes, barometric pressure changes, wind loads and snow loads – providing superior long-term durability.
Edgetech’s facility in Coventry, England is the only warm edge technology manufacturing facility in the UK. The company continually strives to educate the industry and government about sustainable building practices.
“I want to start by saying how encouraged and impressed I am by the resilience and determination construction firms have shown over the past 12 months,” said Ian Lucas, Minister for Business at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. “The CPA Innovation and Achievement showcase is evidence that Britain is still a nation of innovators, delivering products and solutions that will shape the industry in the years ahead.”
