Add a commentRecommend TWENTY jobs have been saved by a Learning and Skills Council-funded training package.

The health and safety course means staff at St Helens glass giant Pilkington can operate a new solar panel production line from next January.

Their jobs were in jeopardy after a dramatic fall in demand for glass used in the automotive and building sectors.

Liverpool-based training company Sysco will provide the training in conjunction with Merseyside Fire Brigade.
