In the Ulyanovsk region will be built factory glass ceramic

Energy efficient production of glass ceramics based on nanotechnological principles of processing of diatomite will be created by 2013 in the town of Inza Ulyanovsk region, told RIA Novosti on Friday, chairman of the board of directors of OOO diatom complex Eugene Nikiforov.

"The aim of the project - to establish by 2013 a production Inze penosteklokeramiki and bring to market high-quality, non-flammable, environmentally safe and affordable heat-structural products," - Nikiforov said, recalling that the plant operates on the basis of the developed world´s largest deposits of diatomite.

On Friday, a draft plant penosteklokeramiki was submitted to the Director General Rusnano Anatoly Chubais during his visit to Ulyanovsk. In early 2010 diatom Works filed in Rusnano request for co-financing of a unique high-tech project.

"In comparison with known technologies for the production of foamed glass, innovation of our proposal is that raw materials are opalkristoballitovye rocks (primarily diatomaceous earth), and not an expensive glass-fighting or steklogranulyat" - Nikiforov said.

According to him, diatomite glass ceramics by technical parameters exceeds all existing mass distribution of insulation materials (gas and foam concrete, extruded polystyrene, foams, and mineral wool), as well as comparable or superior performance (eg, heat and environmental safety), materials of higher price groups, such as foam.

Nikiforov recalled that a base plant in Inzenskij area created the Scientific and Technological Center, engaged in the exploration and modification of the properties of diatomite, a test pilot production.

"Thanks to the successful research, with the implementation of the project presented a penosteklokeramiki production in Russia in an unlimited amount will be available for industry and construction heat-structural material", - concluded Nikiforov.

According to Anatoly Chubais, Rusnano in principle prepared to support the project.

"We have the experts study the documents of diatom plant - after their report, I will make a decision to support this project" - Chubais said following the presentation.
