10mm Tempered Railing Glass

1. Introduction:

Tempered glass is a kind of safety glass with even compressive stress on the glass surface which is caused by heating float glass to near softening point (700°), then cooling it down rapidly on the glass surface. During this instant cooling process, the glass external is solidified, while the glass internal is cooled down relatively slowly. The tempered process will generate even compressive stress on the glass surface and tensile stress in the glass internal, which can improve the bending resistance and shock resistance.

2. Features:

a)      High safety:

Once damage occurs, the glass breaks into small cubical fragments, which are relatively harmless to human body.

b)      High intensity:

The strength of bending resistance is 3-5 times of ordinary annealed glass in same thickness; the strength of shock resistance is 3-5 times of ordinary annealed glass in same thickness.

c)       High thermostability:

Tempered glass can withstand the large temperature difference (300°). It is 3 times of ordinary annealed glass.

d)      Wind pressure resistance

The wind pressure resistance is 1.5-3 times of ordinary annealed glass.
