Laminated Glass is manufactured by permanently bonding two or more lites of glass with one or more layers of polyvinyl but (PVB) interlayer, under heat and pressure, to create a single construction.

Laminated glass is a combination of two or more glass sheets with one or more interlayer of plastic (PVB). In case of breakage, the interlayer holds the fragments together and continues to provide resistance to the passage of persons or objects. In canister impact test, the glass specimen is 4+0.38+4 laminated glass of 1930×864mm large. Fix the glass in a steel frame and drop the 45kg canister from different height above (300-450-600-750-900-1200mm) to hit the center of glass specimen. The laminated glass stops the canister from passing through and the glass, although broken, stays in the fixing frames without falling apart. The test simulates that a child hits glass when he is running. The test proves that laminated glass, used as curtain walling or room partition, can effectively protect people from potential injury.
