Laminated glass is manufactured by laminating 2 pieces of float glass together with a layer of PVB (polyvinyl butyral). Characteristics: Laminated glass reduces transmission of high frequency sound and blocks 97 percent of ultraviolet radiation Laminated glass does not shatter into pieces upon impact, and tend to remain intact. Safety Features: Laminated glass when broken by impact is held together by the PVB layer such that the glass does not fall apart. Laminated glass also provides a level of security when used in storefronts or other secure locations as it remains in place even when badly broken due to the strong PVB inner-layer.
