PVB intermediate film is a semi transparent film, which is a molecular material formed by plasticizing and extruding polyvinyl butyral resin with a plasticizer. The appearance is a semi transparent film, without impurities, with a flat surface, a certain roughness and good softness. It has good adhesion to inorganic glass, and has characteristics such as transparency, heat resistance, cold resistance, moisture resistance, and high mechanical strength. It is currently one of the bonding materials used in the manufacturing of laminated and safety glass in the world

Characteristics of PVB

1. Safety

When the laminated glass is cracked by external impact, the PVB interlayer will absorb a large amount of impact energy and weaken it rapidly. Therefore, it is difficult for the laminated glass to be broken down. Even if the glass is broken, it can still remain intact in the frame.

2. Security

Because it is impossible to use a glass cutter to effectively cut the installed laminated glass, while using other tools to break through laminated glass takes a long time, makes a loud noise, and is easy to be found, laminated glass has a strong resistance to malicious damage, theft and violence.

3. Sound insulation

PVB film has a strong blocking effect on sound waves, effectively blocking the propagation of sound, and has a good sound insulation effect.

4. UV protection

PVB film contains UV absorbing additives that can filter out 99% of UV rays and prevent the fading and damaging effects of UV radiation on various appliances.
